Mass will be concelebrated by Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops and priests from around the world including Bishop John Keenan and Father Ryan Black from the Diocese of Paisley. It will also be attended by a number of world leaders and other dignitaries.
The Eucharistic celebration will conclude with the Ultima commendatio and the Valedictio, marking nine days of mourning and Masses for the repose of Pope Francis' soul.
After the funeral Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Francis' coffin will be taken to the Basilica of St. Mary Major where he will be entombed.
We give thanks to God for his many years of service to the Church and ultimately as Bishop of Rome and successor of Peter.
Requiescat in Pace.
