Congratulations! You're Engaged!
The Church rejoices with you as you prepare to enter the Sacrament of Marriage and wants to support you as you start your journey of married life.
It is important to contact your parish priest or deacon at least six months before your intended wedding date. This allows time to arrange documentation and obtain any necessary permission to marry.
As part of your preparation you are invited to attend a marriage preparation course for engaged couples designed to encourage you, enrich your relationship and enhance your understanding of the Catholic Church's teaching on marriage and family life.
It is an enjoyable, relaxed course where you can meet other couples who are getting married and also have time to share with your fiancé(e) your expectations and hopes for your marriage.
There is a cost of £50 per couple to cover administration, information packs and Sat refreshments.Some of the topics covered are:
-Theology of the Body
-Responsible Parenthood & Fertility Awareness
-Family of Origin
-The Christian Family
-Prayer
-The marriage ceremony
-Communication
Registration is essential.
