John Rutter will conduct his recent Missa Brevis and other choral works at the University of Glasgow Memorial Chapel.
The St Andrew’s Foundation at the University of Glasgow is fostering valuable links with National Schools Singing Programme (NSSP) which develops the quality and scope of Liturgical Music in Catholic Schools. The Chair of The Vinehill Trust—an organisation which supports the NSSP—is the internationally renowned composer John Rutter CBE, whose reputation for enhancing the Choral tradition is outstanding.
On Thursday 18th April, John will spend the day meeting and working with Catholic student teachers and primary school pupils from across Scotland, enhancing their experience of sacred music.
That evening, John will conduct the University Chapel Choir as it sings his recent Missa Brevis and other selected works. The Choir will be accompanied by University Organist Kevin Bowyer.
Tickets are now available for the evening performance.
It will take place in the University Chapel from 6-6.45pm, on Thursday 18th of April and will be followed by tea/coffee. Please note that tickets are free but limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Please encourage people to book as early as possible.
