ATQRE for Catholic Schools consists of 2 x 40 Credits (Level 10) courses that are recognised by the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS) and which can be used to apply for Professional Recognition in the subject. The courses are taught by staff of the St Andrew's Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow. The ATQRE programme is for qualified teachers who wish to become specialist RE teachers in the Secondary school.

The Diocese of Paisley support ATQRE and will pay one third of the fees for any applicants who live in the diocese, and attend Bishop Keenan's support sessions (see below) this is payable on completion of the course.

RE (Catholic Specialism Part 1)
This course will critically explore Catholic theological understanding of Liturgy, Sacraments, Christology and Revelation. This course is a blend of face-to-face and online teaching. The course begins in August 2025.
