August 5, 2014Just Faith is a joint outreach initiative by Justice & Peace Scotland, Mission Matters Scotland and SCIAF, running for the next two years in Paisley diocese. The aim of the project is to share the social justice work of the Church and to encourage Catholics to connect our faith with action for change. The launch event will take place on Friday 29 August from 6pm – 8pm in the Diocesan Office, Incle Street, Paisley. It would be great to have every parish represented, to feed into how the project develops. We will discuss the Church’s vision of missionary discipleship, solidarity, partnership and human dignity, connect our personal experiences of mercy and justice with the mission and teachings of the Church, and showcase the wide opportunities for people in the diocese to get more involved in prayer and action for justice.
August 5, 2014UR space offers GAP year opportunities for young people to live and work in a Salesian Christian community based in Glasgow. It is an outreach project set up to work with children and young people in schools and parishes. As a volunteer you will work as part of a team to prepare and present creative sessions, activities, prayers and reflections to encourage young people to explore their faith and reach their full potential. As well as ‘hands on’ experience of working with young people you will have regular training and supervision. Spaces are available for the coming academic year. For contact details and more information please see the poster on your Parish noticeboard.
